SimpleBlueprints ("SimpleBlueprints", "we", "us" or "our") operates the website at simpleblueprints.xyz and the associated web application (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to personal information we process through the Service. It does not apply to the practices of third parties we do not control.
In this Policy, "personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or household.
Privacy enquiries, requests and complaints may be directed to customerservice@simpleblueprints.xyz. Rights requests are handled as described in Section 9.
The categories of personal information we collect, the sources from which each category is obtained, and the business purposes for which each is used, are set out below. The specific information we hold about an individual depends on how that individual uses the Service.
| Category | Examples | Source | Business purpose |

| Documents you upload | Property surveys, plat maps and site plans, which commonly display an address and lot boundaries and may display a name | Directly from you | Extracting dimensions to improve drawing accuracy; producing the site plan sheet |
| Design information | Dimensions, height, materials, stairs, railings, attachment method, deck position | Directly from you | Generating drawings, structural calculations and material lists |
| Communications | Messages submitted to the in-application assistant and any image attached to them; support correspondence | Directly from you | Responding to your request; diagnosing product problems; improving the Service |
| Commercial information | Records of purchases and transaction status | Directly from you; our payment processor | Processing payment; providing proof of purchase; accounting and tax records |
| Internet and device activity | Pages viewed, actions taken, steps reached and time spent; browser type, device type, screen dimensions, referring website | Automatically, through the Service | Operating and securing the Service; identifying where users encounter difficulty; measuring use of the Service |
| Network identifiers | An anonymous identifier stored in your browser; your IP address, retained only in irreversible hashed form | Automatically, through the Service | Distinguishing sessions; fraud prevention and abuse detection; aggregate analytics |
We do not collect government identification numbers, payment card numbers, biometric information, or precise geolocation from your device. Payment card details are submitted directly to our payment processor and are not received or stored by us.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined under California law, including government identifiers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, genetic or biometric data, health information, or information concerning sex life or sexual orientation.
A document you choose to upload may incidentally contain information beyond what the Service requires. Uploaded documents are used only for the purposes stated in Section 2, and are not used to infer characteristics about you. If you prefer not to provide a document, the Service may be used by entering measurements manually or by drawing your lot and building outline.
We use personal information for the following business purposes:
We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not use personal information for a purpose materially different from those stated in this Policy without first providing notice.
We disclose personal information to service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as necessary to perform the functions stated below.
| Third party | Function | Categories disclosed |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication | Identifiers and account information | |
| Mapping, imagery and building data | Property information (coordinates) | |
| Realie | Parcel and property records | Property information (address) |
| OpenStreetMap services | Building outline data | Property information (coordinates) |
| Anthropic | Automated document reading and assistant responses | Communications; documents you upload; design information. See Section 7. |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Commercial information; payment details submitted directly to Stripe |
| Railway | Hosting, storage and database infrastructure | All categories, as processed and stored |
We may also disclose personal information where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena or other legal process; where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of any person; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honour the commitments in this Policy or provide notice of any change.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. This applies to every category of personal information listed in Section 2, and to information concerning individuals we know to be under sixteen years of age.
Because we do not sell or share personal information, no opt-out mechanism is required. We nonetheless treat opt-out preference signals as described in Section 11.
Two features of the Service use automated processing supplied by a third-party provider, Anthropic:
Under our agreement with the provider, information transmitted for these purposes is processed in order to return a result to us and is not used to train the provider's models. We retain assistant conversations in order to diagnose product problems and improve the Service.
We do not use automated decision-making technology to make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects, including decisions concerning credit, employment, housing, insurance, education, or access to essential goods and services.
Automated output may be inaccurate or incomplete. Drawings, calculations and assistant responses are provided for use in preparing a permit application and do not constitute engineering, architectural, legal or code-compliance advice. Your building department has final authority, and you remain responsible for verifying the accuracy of anything you submit.
We retain each category of personal information for the period, or according to the criteria, stated below. Where a fixed period cannot be stated, we retain the information for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet our legal obligations.
| Category | Retention period or criteria |
|---|---|
| Identifiers and account information | For the life of the account, and thereafter only as required to resolve disputes or meet legal obligations |
| Property information and design information | For the life of the associated project, so that saved work remains available to you and so we can review how the product performed on real properties. Designs saved without an account are deleted 90 days after the last change |
| Documents you upload | For the life of the associated project |
| Generated drawing files | Not retained. Drawings are reproduced from your saved design when requested |
| Communications | Retained to support product diagnosis and improvement, and reviewed periodically for continued relevance |
| Commercial information | As required for accounting, tax and audit purposes |
| Internet activity and network identifiers | Retained in order to analyse long-term trends in use of the Service |
You may delete individual projects at any time from within the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated information as described in Section 9.
Subject to verification and to applicable legal exceptions, you may request that we:
To submit a request, email customerservice@simpleblueprints.xyz from the email address associated with your account or, if you do not hold an account, provide sufficient information for us to locate the relevant records. We use the email address on the account to verify a request. We may request additional information where necessary to verify identity, and information provided for verification will not be used for any other purpose.
We aim to acknowledge requests within ten business days and to respond substantively within forty-five calendar days, and we will notify you where an extension is required. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission. We will not deny goods or services, charge a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you have exercised a right. Where we decline a request in whole or in part, we will explain why.
This section supplements the Policy, applies to California residents, and serves as our notice at collection.
California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information for that purpose.
We maintain administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information, including encryption of traffic in transit using HTTPS, delegated authentication so that we do not hold account passwords, one-way hashing of IP addresses, and restricted access to production systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not represent that our measures are impenetrable. Where a security incident affecting personal information occurs, we will notify affected individuals and regulators to the extent required by applicable law.
The Service is intended for adults planning construction work. It is not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Where we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child under thirteen, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us at the address in Section 1.
We are established in the United States and the Service is intended for use in the United States. Personal information we process is stored on infrastructure located in the United States. Certain service providers listed in Section 5 may process information in other jurisdictions in the course of providing their services. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on the understanding that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from that of your own jurisdiction.
The Service may link to websites and resources operated by others, including building department and building code resources. We do not control those sites and this Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Where we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice through the Service or by email rather than relying on the revised date alone. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
